Naked College Professors and the Smell Test!
Submitted By Anonymous

When I read the latest “Teacher Exposure” article about the USC Professor’s naked photos on her personal website, I thought three things;
How would I feel if she was my child’s college professor? How much is my children’s college tuition ? And, “Does this pass the “Smell Test?”
The “Smell Test” was taught to me by a man named Fred Shabel, who said that since people can usually find a way to justify their actions, the best question to ask is, “does it pass the “Smell Test.”
Our culture seems to be all about “Exposure” in every way these days, especially through the Internet. Moral and ethical lines continue to be challenged.
Is it such a big deal that the professor with whom parents are entrusting the education and mentorship of their children exposes her body on the Internet?
The USC Web policy stated, "The content of individual Web pages is primarily a matter of free speech and academic freedom that must be protected in a university environment."
I suppose that this professor’s website is fairly tame by USC standards considering what their professors could expose of themselves on their own websites.
So this week I am going to check out my own daughter and son’s University policies.
The USC one just doesn’t pass the “smell test” for me. How about you?
