Moms Who Invent New Products! Not Easy!

I know every mom who has a product for sale has gone through hoops to get their product to market. One of my best friends invented a product 5 years ago and after hitting what seems to be a hundred walls, she has been picked up by Walmart in the past 12 months and they love her and her product! You would think that would be a home run! Well, it is in the long run, but the fact that her husband just lost his job and they have no additional income while she is building her business, it is amazingly difficult. She is traveling the entire country and gaining business but has to find a bank or someone who will forward her the money for production of the tens of thousands of orders of her product she is receiving to be able to fulfill the orders. It’s a catch 22. You can’t get anyone to listen at first and then when people are listening you have to find the dollars to get to the next level. If you don’t, you miss the boat.

The most important thing for me being her friend is that whenever the phone rings now, I take her calls. No matter what! If I can help in any way, I do. When it is critical mass in a friend’s life, your children’s issues pale to theirs sometimes because your friends are the one who get you through the tough times with your children.

I don’t know if her husband, her children or her family know how successful she will be, but I know. I know she will be an enormous success and her marriage will sustain. Maybe, in part, it would have helped that, I took her calls and listened through her tears and didn’t have an answer but was there to say, “I don’t know how it is going to happen but it is going to happen; believe!”

You won’t get to where you want to be without encouragement from a friend or mentor and your friends are not going to make it without you! Try not to be too busy for a friend in need. A friend in need is part of your purpose.

Keep creating! Think out of the box! Don’t be afraid to fail because you only fail when you stop! So don’t stop! Where you are going takes longer than you think. So what!
