Ask Linda Anything!
Happy Thanksgiving!

Does this happen to you? Sometimes you hear good news or something good happens to you in one part of your life, at the same time, a new challenge pops up in another part of your life? How many times do we say,“Gee, why can’t I just have everything go smoothly all at the same time!”
For example, the day you get a promotion in your job, your kid calls with a sudden drama that requires your full attention. Then again, it could be something with much more impact like the day you learn you are going to have a baby, you hear someone close to you has cancer.
Whatever the circumstances, I always keep in mind that life finds a way to keep you guessing and balanced regardless of who you are.
I truly believe that no matter how many curve balls you get thrown, there is always something for which to be thankful, even if it seems the only thing you can think of at the time is that you are alive today with the potential that you will have something good or make something good happen in your life.
There is a Mom on the Move that I interviewed awhile ago and with whom I have stayed close. Her name is Linda as well. She is a single mom with a loving 15 year old son living under very difficult circumstances. She had a mastectomy a couple months ago and starts 6 weeks of daily chemo this week. She emailed me tonight to thank me for being in her life. With everything she has to endure, she actually thought of me. Little does Linda know that I am so thankful to have her in my life.
Every Thanksgiving, before dinner, my family stands around in a circle, young and old, and everyone has to tell of something for which they are thankful. It is our favorite part of the night even if one of the grandkids is only thankful for Grandmom’s apple pie! It is the best!
This year, along with my family and friends, I am thankful for people like Linda in my life who inspire me to stay the course and do a better job to help mothers.
Happy Thanksgiving to you! If you have lost a loved one this year; take time to remember them with laughter and joy. I’m sure they’ll be listening from heaven. If you have had a momentous occasion this past year, tell a funny story about it so no one forgets the event. If you are in love, talk about that because it makes us all feel in love again.
As long as we live and breathe, if we can find something for which to be thankful and in some way, be helpful to someone else, then we are absolutely, positively, on the right track. And, that is the best place to be!
